Research project developed during the UCHRI Art Inclusion: Disability, Design Curation residency at UCIrvine, June 2012. With an interest in aesthetics of access we developed variations on a movement scene. This involved movement and sound scores, with descriptions, spoken text and subtitles involving various collaborators. The top version of the video also includes dancers and collaborators from the integrated dance summer intensive 2012.
The residency was convened and led by the members of the residential research group: Critical Disability Studies (UCHRI Grantee 2010). During this week of seminars, presentations and discussions I was able to work alongside Victoria Marks (World Arts and Cultures, UCLA) with dancers Alexx Shilling and Ian Isles.
